Project Work

Our projects give young people the chance to have incredible experiences.

In addition to our term time and holiday activities we also deliver a range of project work throughout the year.

This is normally with smaller groups and supports young people to further develop specific skills, gain accreditations and qualifications, and take part in invaluable experiences.

We’re always developing this part of our work to create even more amazing activities for young people to get involved.

As with all of our activities these are free to access and we can loan kit where it is needed.

Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

We deliver a Bronze DofE award each year with a small group of our senior members (14+). The DofE is a great way to increase confidence and skills, but it does take some commitment!

Young people develop a skill, increase their physical activity and volunteer each week. They will then take part in an expedition where they develop teamwork, determination and navigation skills, as well as physically challenge themselves with two “really long” walks and an overnight camp.

You can find more info about the Bronze DofE award here.

Arts Award

We are an Arts Award centre, which means we can deliver Arts Award qualifications for our members. We deliver up to a Silver award, which is equivalent to a GCSE grade A-C!

Our members have really got a lot out of these longer projects, in which they can develop an arts based skill, work with professional artists and develop learning and employment skills.

We have been delighted to work with Blackpool Cities of Learning on developing a digital framework for this project.

You can find more info about Arts Award here.

Toast & Jam

We work with a local professional music studio, Rock Hard Music Studios to deliver a really fun music programme with members. Starting with a healthy breakfast (the toast part) we then develop our music skills (the jam part) including instruments, production, recording and song writing. Young people have the opportunity to work with music industry professionals and record their own songs.

Story Squad

We have really enjoyed working with Blackpool Grand Theatre on their Story Squad programme; building resilience with junior members through storytelling, performance and art.

Young people have worked with professional artists within the Grand Theatre and at Blackpool School of Arts to develop their confidence, build resilience and learn new arts based skills. They’ve even been able to watch shows at the Grand and write, create and film their own performance. We’ll share the finished piece as soon as it’s finished.

Snow Camp

For the last two years we have been working with Snow Camp, giving senior members the opportunity to take part in their First Tracks and Graduate programmes. Young people develop their life skills and wellbeing alongside learning how to ski or snowboard at Chill Factore. When they complete their Graduate programme not only are they brilliant on the slopes, but they will have completed an ASDAN Sports & Fitness Certificate.

You can find out more info about Snow Camp here.

Other accredited learning

We are currently developing new programmes and projects for young people to gain even more accredited training and learning to bolster their CVs and help prepare them for their futures.
